What did Clinco achieve in 2017?

As we move towards the Christmas holidays it’s good to look back on the past year.  Here is a review of some of some of Clinco’s achievements of 2017:

Zero quality issues

As a client-centred business, it is a great pleasure to be able to report no quality issues at all arising in 2017 – and some excellent feedback over the last 12 months.  That doesn’t mean we are not constantly seeking to improve, innovate, streamline and invest to enhance client experience and value for money.

Clinco ISO27001 certified

In August 2017, following stringent independent audit of our business operation, Clinco was certified compliant with ISO27001.  This means that our data protection credentials adhere to strict international standards and will stand up to scrutiny under the GDPR coming into force in May 2018.  We believe we are the only independent pagination service to be certified to ISO27001, and we’re proud to be leading the way on this important area.  Continuous improvement is part of the ISO ethos and we have already built on our achievement to stay ahead.

Continued improvements to our ‘paperless’ service

With secure electronic document transfer at our fingertips, Clinco is increasingly producing ‘paperless only’ bundles of medical records – allowing our clients to make savings on time, document management, filing and storage space.  We offer a free consultancy service to any firm which would like to consider becoming paperless or paperlight, as many more will be doing in 2018.

Fixed fees

Costs have continued to present a challenge to the profession over the last year.  Fixed recoverable costs will come back onto the political agenda in the foreseeable future and at Clinco, we are ready for this and see our service as part of the solution.  We already offer fixed fees and continuously review costs to ensure our offering is providing best value. We ask clients to let us know if our fees are not fully recoverable against the other side in successful cases – we had no reported issues with this in 2017.

Our belief in continuing education

We have in 2017 become sponsors for the first time, and to reflect our interest and belief in continuing education, we chose Inspire MediLaw, which specialises in medicolegal events for doctors and lawyers.  This has already proved to be a successful collaboration and we look forward to our continued association through 2018.

We also adopted a charity in 2017, again for the first time, and have learnt so much from volunteering for and supporting Headway over the past twelve months.

Thanks to all!

Overall, we reflect on 2017 as a good year, in spite of ongoing change and challenge in medicolegal litigation.  We have processed hundreds of thousands of pages of medical evidence accurately and on time, to strict quality standards, to deliver on our aim of providing the best available pagination service.  We have shown our commitment to data security to safeguard our clients and the patients on whose medical records we are working.  We have reached out to other organisations with similar interests and contributed to their progress.  I’d like to thank the dedicated Clinco team for their hard work over the year, and to all of our clients for their instructions and kind comments which are always so appreciated.

Merry Christmas to everyone, and best wishes for a relaxing holiday!
